I love a good Fantasy YA novel, and I think this was it. Traditionally, she would be the evil villain since she has such a nasty superpower.

Except she’s not, not even a little bit. The main characters are in high school and much of the story revolves around the school environment so you might take this as a YA book. Once the unconvincing romance between Jenny and Seth begins, Jenny’s characterization starts to change.
